International Relations Training Citizens of the World

Calvin students

In this day and age, nearly every business works internationally. So-called domestic policies both have an international impact and are influenced by the global environment. Every politician and every diplomat should know about international issues. Every church has some connection to a church or relief organization abroad. These days, we live, work and worship in a global village.

The international relations (IR) major at Calvin College trains students to ask and answer the fundamental questions underlying global politics: What are the forces that drive world hunger, economic inequalities, international trade, environmental degradation, nationalism and war?
