African and African Diaspora Studies
Understanding Africa's Role
In The World

Interim in South Africa

Africa is a continent whose story has long remained untold, yet Africa has played a significant role in world history. The African story has had a tremendous impact on the story of the Americas. We study the histories and cultures of the people on the African continent and of those people from the African continent who were transplanted elsewhere. Through our study, we affirm their worth as God's people and grasp how irrevocably one continent has transformed the many cultures it touches.

The African and African Diaspora Studies minor is an interdisciplinary program that draws together African history, languages, geography, philosophy and literature.
