"La ciudad" is a unit for first-year Spanish students. New vocabulary words dealing with common places and stores in the neighborhood are presented through a Power Point lesson, and students make choices about what kind of neighborhood they would like to live in and how much they would pay for a house. An audio clip of a young man’s return to Guatemala City, the city of his childhood, is also included.
