Disability Documentation Guidelines
Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1973, individuals with disabilities are protected from discrimination and assured services and accommodations that provide equal access to Calvin's activities and programs.
Because each person's situation is unique, we ask any interested student to meet with us. In accordance with the spirit of the legislative updates to the ADA, documentation requirements vary by situation. A Disability Coordinator will talk to the student about documentation during the initial conversation. Disability Coordinators use a three prong approach for each individual request for accommodations, including:
- Student's Self Report
- Observation and Interaction
- Information from external/or third parties
