Background:
A bequest has been received from Dr. John and Mrs. Lillian Van Oosten the income from which is to be used to provide scholarships to students who are pursuing studies in the natural sciences. Scholarships are to be awarded on the basis of financial need and scholastic merit.
Amount: Five scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded for 2011-2012
Criteria:
- Major in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Geography, Environmental Science, or Physics
- Current Calvin student planning to enroll full time the following year
- Entering Junior or Senior year
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Some evidence of financial need
