Services for ESL (English as a Second Language) Students

Services for ESL StudentsThe Office of Academic Services provides English language instruction to international students who need/choose to improve their writing for an American academic audience. English 100 and 102 (each 3 credits) develops a student's college writing skills and increases cultural knowledge; core credit is awarded for Written Rhetoric upon completion of English 102.

In addition to writing instruction, international students also receive services relating to cultural adjustments, college expectations, and academics. Although the Office of Academic Services does not directly deal with questions concerning financial aid, insurance, health services and visa issues, the Office of Academic Services is prepared to guide students to other faculty and staff who would be able to answer such questions.
