Getting Around Microsoft Windows XP

Windows is available on the majority of Calvin's computer labs including, computer classrooms, and ITC. There are some operating system functions that you will not be able to access in the labs in order to keep the machines stable and standardized. The dorm labs and infoXpress stations have the most restricted environments. When you turn on a Windows machine, commonly called a "PC" you are in the Windows environment. It will look similar to the diagram below.

You can access a printable version of the layout by clicking on the image above. Then select File > Print. If you are an Windows novice, this can be particularly helpful when working through the tutorials particularly given the number of menus and panel options available.
