Macromedia Fireworks

The goal of this tutorial is to help you become familiar with Macromedia Fireworks. Fireworks is a software program designed to assist you in creating and editing webpage images. Print out the Fireworks checklist to use as a study guide. After reviewing the Fireworks materials, set them aside for a few days, then use the checklist as a self-test and practice exercise to see how much you retain.

This tutorial will cover the following skills and concepts:

  • Getting Around Fireworks
  • Using the Fireworks Help Menu
  • Fireworks Fundamentals
    • Cropping and resizing an image
    • Adding vector and bitmap objects to an image
  • Learn More About Fireworks

This course does not provide extensive details on Web graphical design. It focuses on the technical aspect of the tool rather than the communication and design aspects that are important parts of effectively using any visual communication tool. See the Learn More section for suggestions on learning more about design.
