Rhetoric Center Staff
Our staff includes Calvin students with diverse majors and interests: |
Erica Boonstra '08 - English Education
Hey, this is Erica, all the way from Chi-town (Chicago). I love writing and basketball. My teammates call me "E" or "E-dawg", but I don't care what you call me as long as you do for an appointment at the Rhetoric Center!
|
Brandon Haan '10 - English/Religion, Secondary Education

|
Brad Hoff '08 - History, Communications
Hi, I'm Brad and I hail from the great city of Boston - home to the World Series Champion Red Sox and Super Bowl Champion Patriots. I'm happy to help you with your writing-- unless, of course, you're a Yankee fan. If that's the case, I will do everything in my power to sabotage your paper. So come on down to the Rhetoric Center--just leave your Yankee hat at home. |
|
| Steph Lasota '10 - Occupational Therapy (African Studies minor)
I hate witing, but I do appreciate a well-written paper. If you share my hatred of writing and would like to vent, or simply need help working your way through your thoughts, come visit me in the RC. |
Susanna Lynch '10 - Biochemistry
Susanna is a stressed Analytical/Organic Chemistry student who takes time out of her hectic life to help you help yourself. If you bring you paper and a good attitude, she'll bring a smile and a pencil. |
Philip McMillan '08 - Music: violin performance & Composition
Phil is a man shrouded in mystery. He carries a violin case, which may or may not
contain a violin, and a knapsack which may or may not contain a knap. Mostly, Phil
enjoys being creative and accumulating and using an impressive range of random
talents of varying degrees of usefulness and he is more than happy to help you with
anything you can think to bring him. We think he does a great job assisting people
with their work, be it writing, speaking, visually communicating, or composing music. Come find out for yourself. |
Tim Perrine '10 - Philosophy
Tim enjoys sunsets and long walks on the beach. He drinks more coffee than any three people should. He'd love to help you analyze and improve a paper.
|
Katie Van Drunen '09 - Philosophy/Pre-Med
Katie can help you find a thoughtful cure for all your writing ailments. |
Lucas Van Drunen '08 - Business/Math

I am a senior at Calvin, and I am in my third year at the RC.
While I am not an English major, writing is a passion of mine and I love
helping students with their work. I look forward to seeing you!
|
Marissa Van Reken '09 - English
The future of the Grammar Exam may rest in Marissa's hands. |
Matt Walters '10 - International Development Studies
Matt thinks writing is pretty okay. He enjoys listening to music, watching movies, and riding his bike. If you want him to help you with your paper, he would like that, especially if the paper deals with any of the topics previously mentioned. . |
