Design your own interdisciplinary major

If you are interested in the study of religion and another discipline, such as history, philosophy or sociology, you may tailor a major around an integrated academic field of study.

Program requirements

To declare an interdisciplinary major including courses in religion, you should plan your program carefully with the help of a faculty advisor, following the guidelines in the college catalog under "Programs of Concentration." You must then get approval from both major department chairs and the registrar.

Writing requirement

You must designate one departmental course (excluding Religion 121, 131, 359, 396) prior to your senior year to fulfill the religion major writing requirement. This course will include additional writing, a revision component, and intensive evaluation.
