SPS - Society of Physics StudentsThe Calvin College
chapter of the Society of Physics Students is a group which aims to encourage
fellowship among all students with an interest in physics and astronomy.
(Above, students and faculty enjoy the 2007"Spring Fling"
on the shore of Lake Michigan). In the past we have achieved this by
sponsoring events such as movie nights, sporting events, and private planetarium
shows and tours. In the future we hope to expand our activities to include
tours of nearby physics laboratories, visiting local middle and high schools
to give brief presentations on the ‘coolness’ of physics and
astronomy, and make an effort to educate the greater Calvin community
as to the glorious attributes of God visible through his physical world.
