Physics and Astronomy scholarships

The Physics and Astronomy department has three scholarships for new students and three scholarships for current students in addition to the many college-wide scholarships available at Calvin.

2013 Scholarship Timeline

For new students

  • February 1: Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) scholarship applications are due
  • February 15: Physics scholarship applications are due
  • mid March: recipients are notified

For current students

  • January 1 : applications are available
  • March 1: applications are due
  • Early April: recipients are notified

Scholarships for new students: Download an application form, download a recommendation form and submit both by February 15.

See the Howard Hughes Medical Institute four year scholarship for incoming students planning to major in biology, chemistry, physics or mathematics and pursue a career in research or education. Application due January 31.

Scholarships for current students: If you are listed as a physics major on your Academic Evaluation Report (AER), you will automatically be considered for the Griffioen, Van Till and Tetzloff scholarships.
