The Physics and Astronomy Department offers two scholarships to incoming physics majors. The Ivan E. and Rebecca J. Griffioen Scholarship, established by alumni and friends to honor Professor Roger Griffioen’s 38 years of service and leadership, is non-renewable. Scholarship amounts depend on funds available, but will not be less than $1,000. Application form and recommendation form for both scholarships. Deadline: February 15, 2008.

The Science Division offers the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Scholarship to incoming students who plan to major in biology, chemistry, physics, or mathematics and plan to pursue a career in research or education. This scholarship is renewable for four years. Information and application form. Deadline: January 31, 2008.

The Science Division offers the John and Lillian Van Oosten Scholarship and Debra Deur Scholarship to current Calvin students pursuing studies in the natural sciences. Information and application form. Deadline: March 7, 2008.
