Education:
Ph.D., Harvard University, 1994

Research Interests:
For his graduate work, Dr. Haarsma trapped positrons for a project to produce antihydrogen. Since graduate school, he has been doing research on the electrophysiology of nerve cells. From 1994-97 he studied the biophysics of calcium channels. His current research is on how the retina electrically processes and encodes visual information.
