Visiting Professor Programs
We are seeking highly qualified and motivated applicants for three annual visiting professors in Values & Virtues in the amount of $30,000. Applicants must be full time faculty members at universities in mainland China, excluding Hong Kong. The participating US institutions are the University of Notre Dame, Baylor University and Calvin College. We reserve the right to assign fellows to their university or college. Fellows are expected to be in residence from mid-August until the end of May.
Application Materials.
Applicants should email the following materials in English as one complete document to Nellie Kooistra (nmk5@calvin.edu):
1) A one-page cover letter.
2) A complete curriculum vitae.
3) Two letters of recommendation. One letter of recommendation should come from your department chair indicating his or her permission for you to spend the year at a US university should you receive the fellowship.
4) A statement of no more than three pages describing the project on which you would like to work. This project should involve issues in moral philosophy very broadly construed (values, foundations of values, ethics, Chinese moral philosophy, virtues and vices, free will, etc.). Extraordinary proposals in science and religion will also be considered. Also, please send a recent photograph of yourself.
5) One published or unpublished paper.
Application Deadlines: January 15, 2010 (2011, 2012). Successful applicants will be notified by the following February 15.
