Program:
Greetings Parents and Guardians – and welcome back Swimmers!
In an effort to enhance our program and better utilize our instructional time with your children this summer, we are going to attempt to reduce the time we spend placing your child in a skill level. In order to do this, we need your help. Please use the following descriptions and any records you might have to determine the skill level that would be appropriate for your child. Children with no swimming experience should be placed in Level I. Children should be able to accomplish the skills described in Level I in order to be placed in Level II, and so on. We will spend a small portion of the first class testing those children whose parents are uncertain what skill level would be appropriate for their child, but most children will be pre-registered in a skill level; therefore, instruction can begin right away. Some placement adjustments may be needed in the first few classes if parents have either over- or underestimated their child's ability. Often children who don't swim all winter regress to some degree. Therefore, it would be in your child's best interest if you could re-familiarize them with the water and review some basic swimming skills prior to the first lesson. Children must be ages 5 or older to begin lessons.
