second at Nationals in 2003 and losing by 3 inches. Going to Steve Michmerhuizen's
(Calvin's throwing coach) parent's woods and riding around in their jeep.
The summer before my sophomore year, at which point I really worked harder
than I ever have before bring myself to the level at which I am."

| "I came to Calvin because of the coaches. Coaches
Honderd, Kim, and Zylstra all called me and encouraged me to at least
visit Calvin to see what it had to offer. I visited and loved everything
about Calvin, especially the track team." |
