Program:

This Japanese language and culture program consists of required Japanese language courses, a comprehensive Japanese culture and society course, as well as other courses on Japan-related topics. The Japanese language courses are taught at all levels. The culture and society course and the various other Japan-related courses are offered each semester by visiting faculty. The program also provides exchange opportunities through field trips, homestays in the community, and participation in local cultural events.

Fall Semester

  • Intensive Japanese Language [5-10 Credits] (four levels, beginning to      advanced)
  • Japanese Culture & Society [4 credits]
  • Japanese Economics & Business [3 credits] (taught by Shiga University      faculty)

Spring Semester

  • Intensive Japanese Language [5-10 credits] (four levels, beginning to      advanced)
  • Japanese Culture & Society (4 credits)
  • Environmental Sciences in Japan (3 credits)
  • East Asian Art: Visual Investigations of Hikone (3 credits)

Cost:

Tuition: Same as Calvin's - $10,730 for 2007/08
Fees: $150 administrative fee
Includes: Boarding fee
Airfare up to $1,200 (with receipt submitted to OCP Office)
Not included:

Internship fees (approximately $600)
