Department of Nursing: Student Research Assistants

Ruth Dekker and Meghan Friesen, senior nursing majors, are working as student research assistants under the direction of Gail Zandee, Community Partnership Coordinator of the Department of Nursing.

Funded by a Spectrum Health Healthier Communities grant, Ruth and Meghan have assisted in designing a community health worker program and are presently involved in the planning of a study to evaluate the outcomes of this program. Meghan and Ruth have been engaged in conducting a review of the literature and writing a proposal for the Institutional Review Board of Calvin College. Their next goal is to begin work on a manuscript for publication.
