Fall Music Festival
Since 1946 Calvin College has celebrated the gift of music at the annual Fall Music Festival. On Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25, join us for a festive evening of music featuring performances by all of Calvin’s vocal and instrumental ensembles and selected student soloists. Tickets are now available for the general public at the Calvin Box Office. All proceeds from ticket sales help fund scholarships for music students.
Calvin Hosts Workshop for Young Composers
On Saturday, October 25, music professor David Fuentes will host a workshop for inspiring high school composers "Might You be a Composer?" The workshop will cover a variety of topics about composition such as what composers need to possess, what composers need to learn, what composers might expect at college, and what young composers can do now. Participants will also have an opportunity to share their compositions with others. The workshop will be held from 10:00 am-3:00 pm in the Music Technology Lab (room 227) in Calvin's Fine Arts Center. The workshop is free, but registration is required. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. David Fuentes.
