Calvin Orchestra presents annual Concerto Concert
Each year the Calvin College Orchestra sponsors a concerto
competition and the winners perform with Robert Nordling
and the Orchestra in the annual Concerto Concert. The student
soloists selected by audition for 2009 are: Sarah Looman (clarinet), Paul Nienhuis (double bass), Brian Odegaard (piano), Anna Schipper
(flute) and
Jennifer Jones (voice).
This year, the student soloists will have the opportunity to
perform this concert twice, once in downtown Muskegon and once in the Calvin Fine Arts Center.
Thursday, March 5 - Calvin Around Town (Muskegon, MI)
Join other Calvin alumni and friends for an hors d'oeuvre
and punch bowl reception and tours of the historic
Frauenthal Center for Performing Arts in Muskegon, MI beginning at 6:30 p.m., followed by the
Concerto Concert at 7:30 p.m. The $10 admission charge
includes the reception, tours, and the concert.
Saturday, March 7 - Concerto Concert at the FAC
On Saturday, March 7, the Calvin College Orchestra will
present the same concert at 8:00 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center
Auditorium. Admission is free; no tickets are required.
