New DVD Recording by the Calvin Orchestra Wins Telly Award
The newly-released Calvin Orchestra DVD Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in D "Titan" has received a 2008 Telly Award. The Telly Awards honor local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, video and film productions, and work created for the Web. The Orchestra DVD, one of over 14,000 entries this year, received a silver award which is the highest honor. The DVD was produced by Calvin Video Productions.
This DVD is the third in a series of DVD's produced by the Orchestra in recent years by director, Robert Nordling. In addition to the performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 1, this DVD also features rehearsal footage, student interviews and faculty interviews. You can purchase a copy of Mahler's Symphony No. 1 at the Calvin Campus Store along with the other Calvin Orchestra recordings.
