- First rehearsal is Monday, September 15th – 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
- Messiah performances will be at the Calvin College Fine Arts Center Auditorium on Friday and Saturday, December 5 & 6, 2008 – 8:00 p.m. both nights. Please share this information with your friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.
- Our Spring Oratorio performance will be held at the Calvin College Fine Arts Center Auditorium on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.
General Information
The following information is to let you know what is expected of you as a member of the chorus.
- Rehearsal Time: Rehearsals are 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. every Monday evening (until 10:00 closer to the performances, please see schedule). Please arrive 5 – 10 minutes early so that we can be seated and ready to sing at 7:30 sharp.
- Bring your scores & a pencil:Please bring your scores and a pencil to each rehearsal. Scores can be purchased at the table outside the south entrance to the auditorium.Messiah score is $10.00. Everyone must have his or her own score.
- Robes: All community members (non-student members) must purchase a robe. Students members with be able to borrow a robe for the performances, but they may purchase their own if they choose to. (students will be charges for robes that are not returned) Robes must be ordered through Vicki VanWingerden no later than October 3, 2008. The price for the robe is $25.00.
- Seating:
- Record your attendance: After the first week a membership roster will be on the table outside the auditorium doors (south side), please put a line through your name when you arrive each week. This is our method of recording your attendance.
- Absences: If you are unable to attend a rehearsal, you must fill out an excuse form or call Vicki VanWingerden at 526-6360 and leave a message on her voicemail, giving the date and reason for your absence. Only two excused absences per semester are allowed. No unexcused absences are allowed. All exceptions to this must be made with the conductor’s approval.
- Performances: The spring performance will be on Saturday, April 18, 2009 in the FAC auditorium.
