Capella went on an international concert tour in May and June 2008. They participated in the Florilége Vocal international choir competitions in Tours, France and also traveled to the Netherlands.

Mezzo-soprano Amanda Koopman was a 2008 Concerto Competition winner. Amanda performed Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer) by Gustav Mahler accompanied by the Calvin Orchestra.

Lisa Walhout was the soprano soloist for the Calvin Oratorio Society's spring production "Psalms and Praise of Eastertide." She performed Clausen's a new Creation and Rutter's Psalmfest.

The Artist Series welcomed VocalEssence (conducted by Philip Brunelle) in October 2007 and the Westminster Choir (conducted by Joe Miller) in February 2008.

The Gospel Choir hosted a 10 Year Reunion during Homecoming Weekend. They also released a new CD "Then Sings My Soul."

Student Voice Recitals were presented by Jennifer Jones (soprano), Amanda Koopman (mezzo-soprano), Jordan Clegg (baritone), Melissa Simon (soprano), Ashley Mulder (soprano) and Jana Kelder (mezzo-soprano).

Calvin Music Alumnus, Jonathan Ten Brink, returned to Calvin as the bass soloist in Messiah, presented by the Calvin Oratorio Society.
