Have you ever listened to a piece of music that paints a very clear picture in your mind? The Calvin Community Symphony will take you on a delightful journey that sparks the imagination. The fun filled, musically packed concert titled Music in Pictures; Pictures in Music will include projected images and opportunities to create individual artwork. Concert activities include:
- an instrument building station prior to the concert
- 45-minute concert
- music learning stations
- instrument petting zoo
Admission is free; no tickets are required. A free-will offering will be taken.

The St. Olaf Choir, with 75 mixed voices, is the pioneer a cappella choir in the United States. Since its founding in 1912, the St. Olaf Choir has set a standard of choral excellence and remained at the forefront of choral artistry. Calvin College is thrilled to welcome Anton Armstrong, conductor, back to Calvin for St. Olaf’s 100 Anniversary Performance.

Student Rush Pass
Students of any age with a valid student ID can purchase a $5 Student Rush Pass one hour prior to the performance at the Calvin College Box Office located in the west lobby of the Covenant Fine Arts Center. This offer is subject to availability. Student ID must be presented. Limit one ticket per student.

Faculty & Guest Series: Tiffany Engle, saxophone

Covenant Fine Arts Center Recital Hall
Tiffany Engle joined the Calvin music faculty in 2005 as an assistant professor and Director of Bands. She recently completed her DMA in wind conducting at Michigan State University and she holds a MM in conducting and saxophone performance from Ithaca College. Dr. Engle teaches woodwind methods, conducting, and instrumental literature and conducts the Calvin College Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Pep Band.

Ensemble Series: Capella

Covenant Fine Arts Center Recital Hall
The Capella spent three weeks in January touring Asia and will be presenting a homecoming concert on Saturday, February 18 at 8pm in the CFAC Recital Hall. The ensemble will perform several selections that were featured on the tour.

Faculty & Guest Series: Beth Colpean, harp

Elizabeth Colpean has been Principal Harpist in the Grand Rapids Symphony since 2000. She has participated in a number of international music festivals including the Pacific Music Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, the Tanglewood Music Festival and the Seventh World Harp Congress in Prague, Czech Republic. Her principal teachers include Alice Chalifoux and Susan Dederich-Pejovich. Ms. Colpean holds degrees from Southern Methodist University and The Cleveland Institute of Music. In addition to her demanding orchestral schedule, she is a member of Duo Derazey, and Trio Neaveau, and is active in solo engagements.
