Christmas at Calvin:
Oratorio Society presents Handel's Messiah
8:00 p.m. - Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium

The Calvin Oratorio Society will be performing Handel's Messiah with the Calvin Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Joel Navarro on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3 at 8:00 p.m.

We are thankful for the 92 years the Oratorio Society has presented beautiful sacred music in our community!

Adult tickets: $30, $28, $22. Discount offered for students and children. Contact the Calvin College Box Office to order your tickets today.

Christmas at Calvin:
Lessons & Carols: Campus Choir & Women's Chorale
3 p.m. & 6 p.m. - LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church

Concert ProgramThe Calvin Women’s Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, and the Campus Choir, under the direction of Dr. Joel Navarro, will lead the 38th annual service of songs, hymns, and scripture readings on Sunday, December 4. The service will be held at LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church at 3 p.m. and again at 6 p.m.

Admission is free; tickets are not required. A free-will offering will be taken.


Monday, December 5
Ensemble Series:
Calvin & Aquinas Handbell Ensembles Concert
7:30 p.m. - Kretschmer Recital Hall
Aquinas Art and Music Center
Aquinas College

The Calvin College Handbell Ensemble and the Valenti Handbell Ensemble of Aquinas College, both directed by Stephanie Wiltse, will join together for a joint Christmas concert. Each group will play individual solo numbers and will join together in music arranged especially for two handbell ensembles. The concert will take place on Monday, December 5 at 7:30 pm in the Kretschmer Recital Hall in the Aquinas Art and Music Center on the campus of Aquinas College. Admission is free; tickets are not required.


Wednesday, December 7
Ensemble Series: Symphonic Band
7:30 p.m. - Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium

Concert ProgramThe Calvin College Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Tiffany Engle, will present a concert on Wednesday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Admission is free; tickets are not required.


Friday, December 9
Christmas at Calvin:
A Capella Christmas
7:30 p.m. - Prince Conference Center

Concert ProgramThe Capella of Calvin College invites you to an evening of Christmas music, holiday sweets and silent auction excitement. A Capella Christmas is a benefit event for the choir’s international tour to Asia in January 2012. Join the ensemble for a festive evening of joyful music and fellowship. The event will take place at 7:30pm on Friday, December 9 at the Prince Conference Center. Questions regarding the event, please contact 616-526-6411 or music@calvin.edu

Saturday, December 10
Christmas at Calvin: Sleigh Ride to Tinseltown
3 p.m. - Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium

Hear melodies from treasured Yuletide productions of stage and screen as the Calvin College Wind Ensemble takes you on a Sleigh Ride to Tinseltown. Enjoy video clips and photos while the ensemble--decked out in festive costumes--performs the musical scores from Christmas classics. With great music, holiday traditions, and even a visit from Santa, this is an afternoon guaranteed to put all members of the family in the holiday spirit!


Tickets: $5/person, $25/family.
