Please join the Calvin Alumni Choir under the direction of Dr. Pearl Shangkuan on Friday, January 15. A free-will offering will be collected for the area alumni chapter scholarship fund.

Artist Series: Bizet's Carmen - The Metropolitan Opera in HD
1 p.m. - Celebration Cinema North

Enjoy the "best seats in the house" for Bizet's exciting opera, Carmen. The Opera is known as one of the most accessible and engaging operas in the repertoire. This new production is conducted by Yannick Nezet-Seguin and designed by Oliver award-winning director Richard Eyre. The Met's popular series of live, high definition performance tranmissions to movie theaters captivates audiences around the world and is seen in 850 venues. Don't miss this chance to experience Carmen from the Met at our own local Celebration Cinema North.

The presentation of Bizet's Carmen is part of the Artist Series at Calvin College.

The Calvin Symposium on Worship offers a vast array of seminars and workshops that will take place Thursday through Saturday, January 28-30, 2010. Thursday is devoted to seminars which allow in-depth study of worship-related topics. The main schedule of hour-long workshops begins on Friday and is repeated in the same time slots on Saturday. The conference ends with worship Saturday afternoon. Each day of Symposium begins and ends with a worship service.  All are welcome to sign up for one, two or three days of sessions.  Student rate (high school or college students) is only $15 a day.
