Oratorio Society: Handel's Messiah

DeVos Performance Hall
The Calvin Oratorio Society will be performing Handel's Messiah with the Grand Rapids Symphony under the direction of David Lockington on Wednesday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m., DeVos Performance Hall. Soloists for the evening are soprano Kimberly Jones, soprano; Martha Hart, mezzo-soprano; Sean Panikkar, tenor & Keith Brautigam, bass.
We are thankful for the 90 years the Oratorio Society has presented beautiful sacred music in our community!
Tickets are available through the Calvin College Box Office and TicketMaster. Adults: $28, $26, $20; Students: $28, $26, $10.

Calvin College Wind Ensemble Christmas Pops Concert

East Grand Rapids High School
On Saturday, December 5, the Wind Ensemble will present their annual Christmas Pops Concert. This festive concert, featuring Christmas music and band members decked out in creative costumes, has become a holiday tradition for many families in West Michigan. The concert will take place at 3 p.m. at East Grand Rapids High School. Tickets available at the Calvin College Box Office - $8 for adults and $4 for students.

Lessons & Carols: Women's Chorale and Campus Choir

LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church
The Calvin Women’s Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Pearl Shangkuan, and the Campus Choir, under the direction of Dr. Joel Navarro, will lead the 36th annual service of songs, hymns and scripture readings on Sunday, December 6. The service will be held at LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church at 3 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. Admission is free; no tickets are required.
Monday, December 7
Calvin & Aquinas Handbell Ensembles Concert
7:30 p.m. -
Aquinas College
The Calvin College Handbell Ensemble and the Valenti Handbell Ensemble of Aquinas College, both directed by Stephanie Wiltse, will join together for Double A’Peal: A Joint Christmas Concert. Repertoire will include traditional Carols of Germany, Wales, England, Finland, Russia and the United States. Each group will play individual solo numbers, and will join together in music arranged especially for two handbell ensembles. The concert will take place on Monday, December 7 at 7:30 pm at Aquinas College. Admission is free; no tickets are required.

The Calvin College Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Tiffany Engle will present a concert on Wednesday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Calvin College Gezon Auditorium. Admission is free; no tickets are required.

Calvin Orchestra Concerto Concert

Grand Rapids Christian High School - DeVos Center for Arts and Worship
On Friday, December 11, the Calvin College Orchestra will present their annual Concerto Concert at Grand Rapids Christian High School, DeVos Center for Arts and Worship at 8 p.m.. The concert, conducted by Robert Nordling, will feature four soloists. The four featured soloists, Calvin College students, will include Andrea Baas, soprano; Emmalon Davis, soprano; Nathan Musch, trombone and Kendra Vaughn, flute. These soloists were selected by audition at the annual Concerto Competition held in November. Admission is free; no tickets are required.
