Problem of the Week  # 239     ( Nov. 3 - 17, 2009)

Suppose Chicken McNuggets from McDonald’s come in packages of 6, 9, and 20 pieces. What is the largest integer so that no combination of McNugget packages gives exactly that many pieces?

Solvers:  Place your solutions by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 10 inside  the blue folder in the box outside Professor Hampton’s door (North Hall 278).  A sweet solution will be awarded a suitably sweet prize.

Last week's winner:   Katelyn Plaisier correctly solved problem # 238 and will receive her prize at this Thursday's Seminar.  

The sweetest solution to problem # 236 was unsigned.  A sweet prize awaits the solver when he/she is identified.  Otherwise  I will consume it.
