The Honors Convocation will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 7:30pm in the Calvin College Chapel.

What is Honors Convocation?
Honors Convocation is a chance for the college community to recognize the academic success of our students.

Who is invited and recognized?
Students who made the Dean's List in either the spring or fall semester of 2009, and students who will graduate with honors in May 2010. The Dean's List students are recognized by class. Seniors who have been on the Dean's list every semester they have been at Calvin receive a certificate, and Honors graduates receive medallions.

May families and friends attend?
Yes, families and friends of the invited students are encouraged to attend along with anyone from the college community. There will be reserved seating areas for the faculty and Dean's list students. A reception for everyone is held in the Commons following the Convocation.

Do I have to dress up or wear anything special?
You do not have to wear anything special; however, we do ask that you NOT wear t-shirts, shorts or grungy jeans. "Dressy casual" is acceptable, such as khakis, shirts with collars, dress pants, etc. The honors graduates wear their graduation robes, and the faculty dress in full academic attire.

I am a student who made the Dean's List. Where do I go the night of the event? Students who were on the Dean's List during Spring or Fall 2009 will sit together in a reserved area of the chapel. Ushers will be available to help you find a spot. Please arrive at the chapel by 7:15 PM to find a seat.

Seniors who have been on the Dean's List every semester during their time at Calvin will have assigned seats. Please find the chair with your namecard on it and sit there. We will be announcing your names and presenting you with a certificate during the ceremony.

I am an honors graduate. Where do I go to line up?
Honors graduates will meet prior to convocation to practice the procession and presentation of medallions before the program begins. We will have your robes for you to put on at that time.
