GRE Information: 2009 - 2010General Test: The GRE General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills that have been acquired over a long period of time and that are not related to any specific field of study. For complete information, check their website: http://www.gre.org The GRE General Test is a computer-based test consisting of three scored sections: analytical writing, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning. The general test is available year-round at testing centers worldwide, and appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Call early to get your preferred test date and free test preparation material; avoid the crowded testing period of November through January. (Sylvan Technology Center, 3910 Burton SE) Subject Tests: Subject tests in eight disciplines (Biochemistry and Cell & Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology) are given at Calvin College in the paper-based format only on the following dates:

Fees: $150 for the General Test (when taken in the U.S.) Preparation: All GRE test registrants receive free test preparation materials, which are also available in downloadable format at www.gre.org/pracmats.html or www.testprepreview.com/gre_practice.htm Commercial preparatory courses, such as those from Prepmaster Review, Inc. (1-800-325-5728). Paperback books such as the Princeton Review GRE, Barron's How to Prepare for the GRE, or Peterson's GRE Success. Samples are available in the Honors Office (H-318). Software: in addition to the free software from GRE itself, other options are Kaplan's "GRE Road Trip", or Princeton Review's "Inside the GRE". Materials available in the Career Services area on the second floor of the Hekman Library or the Honors Program office (H-318).
