Recent activities
Prof. Van Vugt's most recent book, British Immigration to the United States, 1776 - 1914, just released from Pickering Chatto. These four 4-volumes are a collection and analysis of sources on British migration to the United States. In Interim 2010, he will be taking students to Vietnam and Cambodia for a course on the Vietnam War from the Vietnamese perspective.
Life outside of Calvin College
"As a guitarist of traditional British and American music--including bluegrass, Appalachian, and Celtic music
--I have played in various bands in Britain and America and have performed for the Royal Geographic Society, the BBC, and French radio, among other cool gigs." Prof. Van Vugt also enjoys scuba diving and down hill skiing.
