Biography

Education

  • Completed a B.A. in Geography and Planning at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
  • Received his PhD in geography from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, 1978

Professional Experience

  • Taught at Wilfrid Laurier University for seven years
  • Taught at University of Toronto
  • Joined the GEO department in 1982 as the first full-time PhD geographer at Calvin, hired to develop both geography and environmental studies programs

Research Interests

  • Cultural and urban geography
  • Environmental studies
  • History and philosophy of geography
  • Cultural ecology and environmental perception
  • Geography of the Netherlands.
