Sand traps capture wind-blown sand to provide measurements of how
much sand is passing a location in a known abount of time. A sand
trap needs to capture moving sand while allowing the wind to pass
through the trap as freely as possible. Many different sand trap
designs exist. We use two types of traps that best fit our studies:
