Research Methods - Microclimate


Instruments on a tower measure the microclimate (local weather) of the dunes we study. Measurements include:

All of these variables affect sand movement by wind. (See Environment.)

Data from the instruments are stored in a datalogger until they can be downloaded to a computer.
