| Some courses and activities fit into other programs
at Calvin College. Classes may participate in activities that are part
of the overall environmental assessment of the College and the surrounding
area (CEAP) and students may receive credit for academically-based service
learning. Off-campus programs are a valuable way to experience the geology
and geography of areas outside Michigan. |

Core Curriculum |
| Ten of our courses fulfill core requirements at Calvin. Students may want to take courses (for core or electives) to strengthen
majors in other fields and to learn more about the earth. For example,
geology courses complement a major in civil engineering, geography courses
complement a major in economics, a meteorology course may complement a
creative writing focus in English. |
