The department regularly offers off-campus interims to Quebec. This experience includes language study, a home stay, excursions, winter sports, and free time to pursue personal interests. On occasion the department also offers interims to places such as Martinique and France.
Interim in Haïti 2014
In January 2014 the department will offer an Interim to Cap-Haïtien, Haïti (French W80) for the first time.

An informational meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 17 from 10 - 10:20 a.m. in Hiemenga Hall 430.
The deadline for applications is Friday, September 27, 2013. Application materials should be submitted to Professor Vos-Camy (Hiemenga Hall 424).

Haïti Interim Scholarship information
Four scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to students participating in the Interim to Cap Haïtien, Haïti, 2014.
Candidates for the scholarship must meet the following criteria:
Be a current Calvin College student, enrolled full time for the 2013-14 academic year.
Be accepted into the 2014 Haiti Interim program (French W80).
Be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year.
Have completed or are enrolled in French 202 or equivalent in fall 2013.
Financial need as defined by government programs is not required, but students who demonstrate high financial need will receive first preference.
Application and Selection Procedure
Candidates for this scholarship will apply to the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid on the appropriate forms provided by that Office.
Candidates must submit a short essay (500 words or less) explaining the importance of the Haiti interim to them.
The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid will select recipients.
