Dorina Lazo Gilmore

Dorina Lazo Gilmore is a writer, poet, performer, teacher, and cultural organizer. She has published a poetry collection, Mosaic Voices: A Spectrum of Central Valley Poets, and two children’s picture books, Children of the San Joaquin Valley (2005), and A Stone in the Soup: A Hmong Girl’s Journey to the United States. Gilmore currently teaches journalism and writing at Fresno Pacific University. She also does freelance work, writing children’s books and stories for magazines. Her work has been published in the Chicago Tribune, Arizona Republic, Fresno State Magazine, and Bridge to the Nations. Gilmore lives in California with her husband and one-year-old daughter.
