MISCHA BERLINSKI
A native of New York, Mischa Berlinski studied classics at Columbia University and at the University of California at Berkeley. His travels have brought him to India and Thailand, where he worked as a journalist. His first novel, Fieldwork, explores the work of missionaries and anthropolgists in the villages of Northern Thailand. In October 2007, Fieldwork was named a finalist for the National Book Award. Berlinski and his wife currently divide their time between Haiti and Italy.
