After-January Announcements
-
Our class poetry anthology, Falling Upward, is available
in the English Department. Thanks to the Provost's Office and the English
Department, we will be able to print 600 free copies. Several have been
distributed on campus (including a bunch during the Festival of Faith and
Writing). We got 'em to some poets like Luci Shaw and Diane Glancy too,
so they're not just sitting on your mom's coffee table.
-
All you poets: both Dialogue and New Calvin are looking for
good submissions. Rob Huie edits Dialogue; Brad Evers collects submissions
for the underground publication.
-
If you still haven't picked up your diskette or your portfolio, contact
Prof. Rienstra.
-
Look for a retrospective list of all readings to be posted here sometime
soon. Really. Or email Prof. Saupe.
-
Credits: The author of "Introduction
to Poetry" is Billy
Collins. This poem and several others are posted at Poetry
Daily.
Writing: Resources for Poets
Reading: More about the Poets
Note: Some poets don't have a web "presence" yet. Fortunately, our
library maintains a
fine collection of resources known as books. There may even be a
book by or about your favorite poet.
