John Thornburg
John Thornburg is a Methodist minister who, after 22 years in parish ministry, started an itinerant ministry of song leading and worship consultation called “A Ministry of Congregational Singing.” He now travels the country and world, leading congregations in singing and consulting with churches to enrich the singing of the congregation. Thornburg is also a published poet whose hymn and anthem texts appear in fifteen different hymnals, hymnal supplements, single-author collections, as well as octavos from six publishers. His newest collection, Family of God, was published by Abingdon Press. Thornburg lives in Dallas, Texas.
