Linda Nemec Foster

Poet and writer Linda Nemec Foster is the author of seven poetry collections, including Living in the Fire Nest and Listen to the Landscape, and Amber Necklace from Gdansk, which was nominated for the Laughlin Award from the Academy of American Poets and was a finalist for the Ohio Book Award in Poetry. More than 250 of her poems have appeared in various journals and magazines such as the Georgia Review, Nimrod, Quarterly West, North American Review, and New American Writing. Foster's work has also been published in major anthologies, exhibited in galleries and museums, and produced for the stage. She has received awards from the Arts Foundation of Michigan, ArtServe Michigan, and the National Writer's Voice. Earlier this year, she received the International Creative Arts Award from the Polish American Historical Association. From 2003 to 2005 she was the first poet laureate of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Foster established the Contemporary Writers Series at Aquinas College and is currently a member of its programming committee.
