CATHLEEN FALSANI
Cathleen Falsani is the religion columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and author of The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People—a critically-acclaimed collection of 32 profiles of well-known "culture shapers" talking about what they believe (or don't) and how it shapes their lives. In The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People, Falsani seeks to discover “God in the places some people say God isn't supposed to be” through her interviews with and profiles of prominent public figures such as Elie Wiesel, Bono, Barack Obama, Melissa Etheridge, Studs Terkel, Anne Rice, and Jeffrey Sachs. A prolific writer and blogger, Falsani was honored in 2005 as the James O. Supple Religion Writer of the Year and is a finalist for the 2007 Templeton Religion Reporter of the Year award. Her work has appeared in Rolling Stone and Christianity Today, Religion News Service, the Daily Southtown, and the Chicago Tribune. Falsani's forthcoming novel, Sin Boldly: A Field Guide for Grace, is a collection of stories about the author's experiences with grace. A native of Connecticut, Falsani has called Chicago her home since 1988.
