MARY LOUISE BRINGLE
Mary Louise (“Mel”) Bringle is professor of philosophy and religion and chair of the Humanites Division at Brevard College, as well as the author of several books. In addition, she is a hymnwriter who has won numerous international hymnwriting competitions. In 2002, the Hymn Society of the United States and Canada honored her by voting her “Emerging Hymn Text Writer.” Her first single-author collection of hymn texts, Joy and Wonder, Love and Longing, was published by GIA. Bringle currently serves as president-elect of the Hymn Society in the United States and Canada.
