Avi
Raised in Brooklyn, Avi is an accomplished author in multiple genres. He has written picture books, mysteries, fantasies, and historical novels. In 1996, Avi’s book Poppy was awarded the Boston Globe–Horn Book Award. He followed this triumph with a 2003 Newbery Award for Crispin: The Cross of Lead. Avi’s next book, Murder at Midnight, will be released in September. Now retired from his librarian job of twenty-five years, Avi lives in Rhode Island.
