Leila Aboulela

Leila Aboulela has written several short stories, including “The Museum,” which won the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2000. Her collection of short stories, Coloured Lights, was published in 2001. Aboulela is also the author of two novels: The Translator and Minaret. Her works are centered on the emotional, spiritual, and practical cultural complexities faced by Muslim immigrants. In addition to her short stories and novels, Aboulela has written several radio plays, including The Mystic Life and The Lion of Chechnya.
