Project Objectives

• Recreational Lock System for Millennium Park
  The Lock System will be used by people in kayaks or canoes.
• Intuitive Use
  Since there will not be a staff member running the lock, it must be simple to understand how to operate the lock
• Vandalism Proof
  The lock must not be able to allow water to flow directly from one lake into the other
• No Electricity Needed
  Rather than hooking up to the power grid, the lock will use only mechanical power from either the user or through the use of gravity
• Quick Useage
  The lock must be quick enough so that users don't decide that it is faster to portage around the lock.
