Our team consists of four senior engineering students: two mechanical, one electrical, and one civil and environmental. The team includes:
Jacob Speelman is from Calgary, Alberta and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Mechanical Concentration with a second major in Philosophy and a minor in Archaeology. Over the summer, Jacob plans to work with Maple Reinders in Calgary, Alberta. Following one last semester at Calvin in the fall of 2010, Jacob hopes to pursue a higher education in Middle East Studies at the American University in Cairo.
Caleb Rottman is from Fargo, North Dakota and will be graduating from Calvin with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with an Electrical concentration. Caleb will intern at GE Aviation in Grand Rapids this summer, following which he will pursue a PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Utah. He has minors in Mathematics and Biochemistry and spent all four years at Calvin as a member of the Varsity Track and Field team.
Eric Ledy is from Perry, Michigan and will be graduating from Calvin with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Mechanical concentration. He has enjoyed the growth and challenges provided by a Christian atmosphere at Calvin. Furthermore, Calvin provided Eric with the opportunity to intern with Airbus in Bremen, Germany. Following graduation, Eric hopes to find work in Lansing, MI and eventually pursue a future in agriculture.
Eric Geerlings is from Grand Rapids, Michigan and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Civil/Environmental concentration. He delayed graduation by one year in order to pursue a Business minor, Resident Assistant experiences, and ASCE Student Chapter leadership. Eric has accepted a position with Infrastructure Alternatives of Rockford, MI to work in the environmental dredging industry.
