Drew Johnson is a senior environmental/civil engineering student at Calvin College. His hometown is in Spokane, Washington. Previously, he has interned with the City of Kentwood, the Spokane County Department of Transportation, and Micron Technologies Inc.. Within environmental engineering he is interested in drinking water and ground water treatment, which he plans to center his future graduate studies around. He is also involved in volunteering locally and and also enjoys leading youth ministries at a local church.
David Nyenhuis, a senior, will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a civil/environmental concentration and an urban studies minor. After graduating in May, he hopes to pursue graduate school for an MS in transportation engineering. He hopes to do research on public transportation system and/or bicycle transportation. He loves studying travel behavior and how the built environment (buildings, roads, cities, etc) affects people socially, mentally, physically, and spiritually. He is currently working as an intern at Hubbell, Roth, & Clark, Inc. doing work on sanitary sewer and wastewater treatment projects. In his free time, David enjoys biking (both on road and off), snowboarding, canoeing, hiking, cooking, mentoring, journaling, and exploring the city.
Hendrik Vanderloo is Senior Civil/Environmental Engineering student at Calvin College. This past summer he worked in Vancouver for a company called MMM Group. For part of the summer he worked as a site monitor for the construction of the Canada line, a new rapid transit system which was just recently completed. For the rest of the summer he worked on a utilities team where he relocated utilities under the South Fraser Perimeter Road, a new 4 lane highway being built in Vancouver. After graduation he is planning to move back to Vancouver and look for a job.
Jason Van Kampen
Jason is a senior civil engineering student from Mokena, Illinois. Jason has worked this past summer in Fort Wayne, Indiana as an intern for a design/build contractor where he learned about the construction industry. Jason plans to pursue a career in the field of civil engineering upon graduation from Calvin College.
