Project Summary:

This project began as a feasability study of installing a closed loop water system on Calvin's campus. Early on this was expanded to include a comprehensive review of campus water usage. This review focused on the four primary areas: drinking water, sanitary sewage, greywater, and stormwater. Based on these areas of research, the team came up with several ways in which to improve Calvin's existing water system. These alternatives include:

Research showed that most of these alternatives were not financially feasible. However, it was found that it would be feasible to design a green roof for the new commons building that is currently in the preliminary planning stages.
